A thirty-two year old private, Napoleon Mitchell was in Captain Carey’s artillery company. He was the son of Asa and Charlotte Mitchell. He remained in Bexar as a member of Carey’s company after the siege and battle of Bexar. It was either Napoleon or Edwin T. Mitchell that was bayoneted while trying to protect Juana Alsbury during the final siege of the Alamo.
