(1807-1836)
Born in Kentucky in 1807, Jameson was a lawyer who came to San Felipe, Texas, in 1830 to set up a practice. It was his responsibility to turn the Alamo into a fort from a mission. On 18 January 1836, Jameson sent a letter to Sam Houston describing his renovations of the mission. ’I have been flattered for my exertions at this place. I have more than one time received the vote of thanks of the whole Garrison...’ Jameson also worked closely with Almeron Dickerson, a 26 year old blacksmith, to further fortify the Alamo. Green B. Jameson was killed in the final siege of the Alamo.
